Fujifilm SQ20: A 3-in-1 Hybrid Camera for Instax, Digital Photos, and Video
Fujifilm has launched the Instax Square SQ20, a new hybrid digital camera that replaces the SQ10 that was launched last year.
In addition to Instax Square film, the SQ20 also captures 1920×1920 (3.69MP) digital photos and 800×800 soundless H.264 video at 15fps. This is the first time “motion mode” has been available in an Instax instant camera.
A new Frame Grab feature lets you shoot a 15-second video clip and then select the single frame you’d like to print using a dial on the back of the camera.
There’s also a new time shift collage function that lets you shoot four images on a single instant photo with a single press of the shutter. The time interval between shots can be adjusted by 0.2 seconds up to 2 seconds.
A new Sequence filter lets you capture photos of moving subjects with a sense of motion and a “dreamy feel.”
A small mirror has also been added to the front of the camera next to the lens to aid users in shooting selfies.
There’s also a new self-timer that’s built into the camera, making it easier for users to capture group shots with them in it.
Other features and specs include 16 different filters (for both photos and videos), two colors (matte black and glossy beige), double exposure, bulb exposure, a 2.7-inch 230K-dot LCD screen, a micro SDHC card slot, internal storage (50 photos and 30s of video), a 33.4mm (35mm equiv.) f/2.4 lens, 4x digital zoom, autofocus, a built-in flash, reprinting last 50 prints, and a built-in lithium-ion battery with a life of 100 prints per charge.
The Fujifilm Instax Square SQ20 will be available October 20th, 2018 with a price tag of $200.
