Yongnuo Unveils the YN 50mm f/1.4N E for Nikon F Cameras

Yongnuo has announced the new YN 50mm f/1.4N E lens for Nikon F-mount cameras. The lens comes three months after the Canon equivalent was unveiled.

The new YN 50mm f/1.4N E is an autofocusing lens with a built-in electromagnetic aperture that supports M/Av/Tv/P/B shooting modes. The f/1.4 maximum aperture features a 7-bladed diaphragm and is great for low-light shooting and shallow-depth-of-field portraits.

There’s a built-in USB port on the lens that allows the firmware to be updated to improve performance and compatibility over time.

“This lens supports live view focusing (Lv),” Yongnuo says. “When Lv mode is on, this lens can focus from special angles, or focus precisely from the broadened view on the display screen.”

Other features of the YN 50mm f/1.4N E include multilayer coating that reduces ghosting and glare while increasing light transmittance, gold-plated contacts, a durable metal lens mount, a focus mode selection dial, a 58mm filter diameter, a weight of 20.35oz (577g), and a focus distance indicator.

The new Yongnuo YN 50mm f/1.4N E lens is available now on eBay for around $176, and you’ll likely be able to purchase it from major retailers soon.
