Laowa Adds Four Mirrorless Lens Mounts to Seven Existing Lenses

Venus Optics has announced that Nikon Z, Canon RF, Leica L, and Canon EOS-M mount options have now been added to seven existing Laowa lenses.

Earlier this year, Venus Optics announced four popular Laowa lenses for Leica L-mount: two wide-angle lenses, the 4mm f/2.8 Fisheye and the 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D, and two macro lenses, the 24mm f/14 2X Macro Probe and the 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5X Ultra Macro.

Now, the number of mount options has been further expanded across seven older Laowa lenses, primarily for the inclusion of the Nikon Z mount, as well as L-mount, Canon RF, and Canon EOS-M.

Laowa 4mm f/2.8 Fisheye: Nikon Z

With a 210-degree angle of view, the Laowa 4mm f/2.8 fisheye lens creates a circular fisheye perspective on Micro Four Thirds and APS-C cameras, suited for creative shots, vlogging, 360-degree panorama, virtual tours, and more.

The lens, available for $200, now has the Nikon Z mount option added and also supports Micro Four Thirds, Fuji X, Sony E, EOS-M, and L-mount.

Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D: Nikon Z

Well-suited for working in low and difficult lighting conditions, the 113-degree angle of view Laowa 9mm f/2.8 Zero-D is now available for the Nikon Z mount.

Venus Optics claims this small and lightweight lens has two aspherical elements plus three extra-low dispersion elements which successfully correct chromatic aberration, realize close-to-zero distortion, and deliver excellent corner to corner sharpness.

It retails for $500 and is also available for Sony E, Fuji X, Canon EF-M, Leica L, Micro Four Thirds, and DJI DL-mount.

Laowa 15mm T2.1 Zero-D Cine: Nikon Z

Currently, the widest T2.1 lens in the market covering large format sensors, Laowa 15mm T2.1 Zero-D Cine provides up to 100-degree coverage on a full-frame camera system and has added Nikon Z mount compatibility. The new Cine version comes with standard 0.8 mod gears on both aperture and focus rings.

It is also available on Canon RF and Sony E-mount and retails for $1,200.

Laowa 9mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine: Nikon Z and L-Mount

The Laowa 9mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine has added Nikon Z and L-mount option for this 113-degree angle of view, with a 100-degree angle of view on the Micro Four Thirds system, lens. Same as the Laowa 15mm T2.1 Zero-D Cine, it comes with standard 0.8 mod gears on both aperture and focus rings.

It is available starting from $600 and already accommodates Canon RF, Sony E, Fuji X, and Micro Four Thirds mounts.

Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine: L-Mount

Currently the widest T2.9 lens, Venus Optics has added support for L-mount to the Laowa 12mm T2.9 Zero-D Cine. Designed with standard 0.8 mod gears on both aperture and focusing rings, the lens has close to zero distortion, according to Venus Optics.

The lens is also available on Canon EF, Canon RF, Sony E, and PL mounts, and retails for $1,500.

Laowa 24mm f/14 2X Macro Probe (Standard): Nikon Z and Canon RF

Laowa 24mm f/14 2X Macro Probe is the world’s first consumer-grade probe lens which focuses from 2:1 macro to infinity and with a wide-angle “Bug Eye” perspective. The front barrel of the lens is waterproof and an LED ring light is mounted at the tip of the lens which makes the lens capable of shooting in wet or dusty environments or with fine powders.

Nikon Z and Canon RF mount options have been added as options for this lens, which starts from $1,600 and has existing support for Canon EF, Nikon F, Sony E, Leica L, Pentax K, and Arri PL.

Laowa Argus 33mm f/0.95 CF APO: Canon EOS-M

Laowa Argus 33mm f/0.95 CF APO is a standard lens for the APS-C cameras and now has added the Canon EOS-M mount option. It is coupled with 35cm closest focusing distance and with the maximum aperture of f/0.95 accommodates clearly detailed and sharp close-up shots with shallow depth of field.

The lens is available for $500 and also has Nikon Z, Canon R, Sony E, and Fuji X-mount options.

All mount options for the lenses above are available now and can be found on the Venus Optics website.
